Hello Arti.
First of all, I don't understand what it means the proxy settings are
not available to you.
Is it you cannot access external pages?
Or is it you cannot change your proxy settings in your browser?
If the second one is the case, no problem. TestMaker has two ways to
record a web script.
The first one is using a proxy, which in this case may not be able to
use.
The second one is using TestGen4Web, which should be installed in your
Firefox browser when you installed TestMaker.
All you need to do it going to menu Tools-Start Firefox with TestGen4Web
This will start firefox and you will see the TestGen4Web tools (note
newer version of TG4W is just an icon in the status bar, click it and it
will show the complete toolbar).
Simply go to your starting page, start recording, play the transaction
and hit stop.
Then Save script. It will save an XML file with the web script. You can
record several of them.
Once you have all the ones you need, you can go to tools-Import
TestGen4Web and it will import those XML and create Jython scripts with
the commands to replicate the web transaction.
You can use those created agents to do performance testing, functional
testing and even monitor testing.
Hope this helps.
William.

Subject: [Dev] How to do functional recording of a web based application
Hi,
I have installed the Testmaker available at the PushtoTest.com site. I
am on the company network and the proxy settings are not available to
me. Moreover the application is supported on IE 7 and Firefox. I am a
tester and need to record scripts for regression and performance testing
purpose.
I am unable to see the wizard that would be used to records the steps.
Please let me know if this is the correct tool for the application?
Regards,
Arti
