Hi Bret:

I'm a MacBook Pro user running 10.4.10. TestMaker requires Java 1.6  
to support the ScriptEngine API that lets you write test scripts in a  
variety of scripting languages (Groovy, Ruby, etc.) If you are using  
the record/playback features then you can run TestMaker 5 under the  
Apple JVM 1.5.

I have found the pre-release Apple JVM 1.6 to function pretty well.  
It crashes every once in a while. You can download it on the Apple  
Developer site.
